Damon Howard made six 3-pointers and scored 31 points and Kirby Hrdlicka had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds as the Menahga boys basketball team prevailed 72-66 in overtime over New York Mills in a Park Region Conference battle Friday night at Menahga.
Charlie Steidler-Thompson dished out five assists and Alan Pietila had five rebounds for the Braves, who improved to 5-3 in the conference with their fourth win in a row. Menahga, which is 8-2 in the last 10 games, is now 9-7 overall.
New York Mills fell to 4-4 in the conference and 7-7 overall. Verndale tops the conference standings at 7-1 while Pillager and Sebeka are also at 5-3. Wadena-Deer Creek is 4-4, Bertha-Hewitt is 2-6 and Henning is 0-8.

Braves rout Bears
Howard, Hrdlicka and Luke Wurdock scored in double figures in leading the Braves to a 74-46 win over Bertha-Hewitt in another conference game Thursday night at Menahga.
Howard made seven 3-pointers and scored 28 points, Hrdlicka scored 22 points and grabbed six rebounds, Wurdock had 14 points and three steals, and Steidler-Thompson had four assists for the Braves, who made 11 of 22 3-pointers in the game.
B-H fell to 4-10 overall.
