     Bob Lusti and Nick Meyer pitched the Menahga baseball team to the championship game of the Park Rapids Invitational.

     Lusti allowed one earned run on five hits with eight strikeouts as the Braves opened the tournament with a 3-2 win over Frazee last Friday night. Levi Schwartz doubled and scored on Kyle Skoog’s grounder in the sixth before a walk to Al Pietila and singles by Meyer, Lusti and Schwartz produced the winning runs in the seventh.

     Meyer followed by allowing one earned run on six hits with six strikeouts in 6 innings of relief as the Braves defeated Hawley 6-3 in the semifinals. Pietila scored two runs, Schwartz had an RBI, and Meyer had an RBI and stole two bases to lead Menahga’s four-hit attack.

     East Grand Forks pounded out 10 hits and took advantage of five errors and five walks to defeat Menahga 11-1 in the title game. Lusti singled and scored on Ray Mueller’s single in the first to account for Menahga’s only run. Skoog started and took the loss.
