Courtland Chase’s double-double sparked the Nevis boys basketball team to a 70-31 victory at Northland Friday night.

Chase had 16 points and 11 rebounds while Griffin Chase added 20 points, 10 steals and six assists. Gavin Becker had 13 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals while Michael Landquist chipped in six steals and four assists. Kevin Hale had eight rebounds for the Tigers, who led 46-11 at the half.

“We were really able to jump all over Northland on the defensive end of the floor and that decided the game early for us,” said Nevis head coach Scott Kramer. “We started the game on a 28-5 run and never looked back. We were able to get 28 steals on the night and that led to a lot of easy baskets in transition.”

The win lifted Nevis to 5-0 on the season.
