McClain, Red Lake girls defeat Tigers

Angel McClain filled the stat sheet with 35 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and eight steals in leading Red Lake to a 101-33 Northwoods Conference victory over the Nevis girls basketball team Tuesday night (Dec. 4) at Red Lake.

Gerika Kingbird added 23 points while Kelanna McClain (11) and Daisey Nelson (10) also hit double figures for the Warriors, who led 59-20 at the half and had 12 players enter the scoring column. Red Lake made 15 of 39 3-pointers in their season debut.

Katie Kamphaus led Nevis with 10 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots. Ava Isaacson grabbed 10 rebounds and Ashley Pyburn had nine rebounds and three assists as the Tigers fell to 1-2 in the conference and overall.
