TJ Erickson was impressive in the season opener for the Park Rapids Esox amateur baseball team.

Erickson threw a two-hit complete game, striking out 15 while not walking a batter in leading the Esox to a 2-0 Lake and Pine League victory over Wolf Lake at Park Rapids on May 5.

Cody Schirmers drove in Kevin Kuhn and Nick Jasmer with a two-run single for the game's only runs in the seventh inning. Park Rapids finished with five hits with Dylan Stenberg's double and singles by Clayton Gallus, Erickson and Austin Becker leading the offense.

Sam Pikula took the loss for Wolf Lake, which committed four errors in the game. Park Rapids' defense made five errors.

The Esox fell to 1-1 in league play with a 5-2 loss at Sebeka on Sunday, May 12.

Park Rapids hosts Nimrod in another league game on Sunday, May 19. That game starts at 1:30 p.m.
