A late rally by Ottertail Central prevented the Menahga baseball team from picking up its first win of the season.

Two-run home runs by Thomas Litzau in the first inning and Ivan Anderson in the third inning gave the Braves a 6-5 lead before Ottertail Central scored once in the fifth and three times in the sixth for a 9-8 Park Region Conference victory on Tuesday, April 30.

Menahga finished with 10 hits with Lars Keranen (3 for 4, one double, two runs, two RBI), Nolan Haataja (2 for 4, one run), Anderson (2 for 4, two runs, three RBI) and Corey Haataja (2 for 3, two doubles, two runs) leading the way. Anderson started and allowed five runs on six hits in four innings while Nolan Haataja took the loss by giving up four runs on five hits in two innings of relief.

The Braves fell to 0-7 on the season.

New York Mills scored single runs in the first, third, fourth and fifth innings and two runs in the seventh for a 6-2 win at Menahga on April 26.

Litzau drove in Anderson with an RBI double and Eddie Salmen drove in Litzau with an RBI single to give Menahga a 2-1 lead in the first inning. Menahga finished with six hits with Keranen going 2 for 3. Nolan Haataja and Henry Salmen each contributed a hit.

Eddie Salmen took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits over the first four innings before Keranen gave up three runs on four hits over the final three innings. Five Menahga errors led to three unearned runs.
