Andreas Aho ties for 14th place at state golf tournament

The United North Central senior carded rounds of 80 and 74 for a 154 at the Class AA boys meet.

United North Central senior Andreas Aho tied for 14th place at the state Class AA boys golf tournament at Ridges at Sand Creek near Jordan on June 15-16.

Aho carded an 80 on Day 1 to share 38th place before moving up the leaderboard with a 74 on Day 2 for a two-day total of 154. Cloquet's Sam Baker earned medalist honors with a 141 while Staples-Motley's Beck Erholtz was the runner-up at 142.

A total of 88 golfers competed at the state tournament.

Cloquet claimed the Class AA team title with rounds of 300 and 298 for a 598. Section 8AA champion Roseau finished sixth at 636 and Staples-Motley was seventh at 643.
