Anjalie Aho and Andreas Aho set the pace for the United North Central cross country teams at the West Central Area Triangular on Friday, Sept. 11.
In the girls meet, Anjalie Aho’s runner-up time of 19 minutes, 53 seconds on the 5,000-meter course at Elbow Lake’s Tipsinah Golf Course led the Warriors to runner-up honors with 38 points. West Central Area took first with 26 points while Breckenridge-Wahpeton was third with 60 points.
Kaarin Lehto was fourth in 21:41, Kate Hendrickson took seventh in 22:05, Gabby Hrdlicka was 10th in 23:10 and Mattea Smith finished 15th in 24:12 to complete UNC’s team score. Kaylee Westberg (17th in 24:15) and Alessandra Matson (20th in 24:36) also competed for the Warriors.
West Central Area’s Lexi Bright led the pack with a winning time of 19:27.
In the boys meet, West Central Area had the top six finishers in posting a perfect team score of 15. Breckenridge-Wahpeton was second with 57 points and UNC took third with 69 points.

Andreas Aho finished ninth in 18:55 and Connor Korvela followed in 10th place with a 19:20 to lead the Warriors. Christian Johnson (15th in 20:47), Sam Jackola (16th in 20:47) and Wesley Hodge (20th in 23:47) rounded out UNC’s team score.
Kade Runge took first in 16:53 in leading the top-rated boys team in Class A to the title.
UNC will host a triangular meet at the Menahga High School on Thursday (Sept. 17) starting at 4 p.m.
