Three Park Rapids golfers earned all-conference honors at the Mid-State Conference tournaments on Monday, May 17.
Mady Maninga shared medalist honors with an 80 and Anna Eckmann finished fourth with an 82 as the Park Rapids girls finished fourth in the five-team field with a 383 at Deerwood’s Ruttger’s Bay Lodge.
Isaiah Phillippi finished third with a career-best 75 as the Park Rapids boys placed fourth with a 337 in the six-team field at Deerwood’s Cuyuna Rolling Hills.
Maninga tied Staples-Motley’s Adriana Dickey atop the leaderboard on the par-72 course.
Lexi Usher’s 105 and Natalie Backmann’s 116 rounded out the Panthers’ team score, which was a season best. Emma Vrieze followed with a 119 and Emily Schulz had a 121.
The other all-conference golfers were Detroit Lakes’ McKenna Mallow (81), Laura Syltie (86), Evan Westrum (89) and Hanna Knoop (89); and Pequot Lakes’ Rudy Seidl (87), Maddie Pederson (90) and Annie Neva (90). Receiving all-conference honorable mention honors were Detroit Lakes’ McKenna Burhans (91), Pequot Lakes’ Genevieve Birkeland (91) and Morgan Krieger (92), and Staples-Motley’s Mallory Uselman (93).
Detroit Lakes carded a 345 to win the Mid-State title for the 11th consecutive season. Pequot Lakes was second with a 358 and Staples-Motley took third with a 376.

Phillippi leads way
The streak keeps going for the Detroit Lakes boys golf team.
The Lakers carded a 320 to edge Pequot Lakes’ 322 to claim the conference title for the 27th year in a row. Staples-Motley was third with a 332.
Following Phillippi to give the Panthers their best team score of the season were Tate Usher with an 85, Hunter Harrison with an 87 and Nolan Eckmann with a 90. Alec Nordin’s 93 and Kenton Klein’s 113 rounded out Park Rapids’ six-golfer squad.
Pequot Lakes’ Tyler Seeling earned medalist honors with a 70 on the par-72 course while Staples-Motley’s Beck Erholtz followed with a 74. The other all-conference golfers were Detroit Lakes’ Lukas Justesen (78), Jake Green (79) and Logan Shons (81); Crosby-Ironton/Aitkin’s Brody Bodle (79); and Pequot Lakes’ Cooper Johnson (81).
Detroit Lakes’ Nick Tobkin (82) and Tommy Suckert (84) as well as CIA’s Will Meyer (84) received all-conference honorable mention honors.
