Derek Lindow and Dan Aman combined on a two-hitter as the Nevis baseball team defeated Blackduck 14-1 in five innings in a Northland Conference game at Bemidji State University on Thursday, May 13.

The Tigers took advantage of five Blackduck errors to claim a 5-0 lead in the first inning. Nevis followed with three runs in the second, five runs in the third and one run in the fourth to end this game early via the 10-run rule. The win was the eighth five-inning victory for Nevis this season.

Lindow allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out nine in four innings. Aman struck out one in the fifth. Nevis defeated the Drakes 5-4 on May 3.

Ethan Klimek (3 for 4, three RBI), Ward Davis (3 for 3, three RBI) and Aman (1 for 4 with a triple, three runs and two RBI) led the Tigers’ 12-hit attack.

Nevis improved to 10-0 in the conference and 13-1 overall while Blackduck fell to 4-2 in the conference and 4-8 overall.
