Walker-Hackensack-Akeley’s pitchers issued 12 walks and hit two batters in the first and third innings that provided all the offense the Nevis baseball team needed in a 15-5 five-inning Northand Conference victory at Nevis on Tuesday, May 11.

The Tigers combined a pair of hits with six walks and a hit batter to claim an 8-0 lead after the first inning. Cain Mitchell, Tyler Lindow and Derek Lindow walked to load the bases before Dan Aman lofted a sacrifice fly. A walk to Ethan Klimek reloaded the bases to set up a walk to Eli Klimek and a run-scoring grounder by Ward Davis. After a walk to Reese Kline, Dawson McGee drew a bases-loaded walk. Mitchell and Tyler Lindow followed with two-run singles.

In the third, the Tigers expanded their lead to 15-0 behind three singles, six walks and a hit batter. McGee and Mitchell opened the inning with walks before both scored on Derek Lindow’s single and an error. Walks to Aman, Ethan Klimek and a single by Eli Klimek loaded the bases. An RBI grounder by Davis, a walk to Kline and McGee’s two-run single made it 14-0 before Tyler Lindow was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to cap off the scoring for the Tigers.

W-H-A scored four runs in the fourth and a run in the fifth to conclude the scoring.
