Activities Director Jeremy Nordick announced guidelines and policies for game nights of winter sporting events at Park Rapids Area High School. The policies follow the recommendations of the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota State High School League for spectators at all winter sporting events.
The guidelines specify two spectators per participant (players and coaches), with an emphasis on family members. Spectators are required to wear masks at all times and must check in at the Commons Area Entrance to the gym. Names of those attending will be required prior to the start of the event. Spectators must sit in the stands at marked areas with families being allowed to sit together. Except for family members being able to sit together, other fans must social distance, maintaining six feet between themselves throughout the event. Attendance is capped at 150 spectators. Players and coaches must also practice social distancing as much as possible.
Concessions will not be available and spectators are asked to leave the gym immediately following the completion of the event.
All Park Rapids home events will be livestreamed on YouTube. The link can be found at the school website (www.parkrapids.k12.mn.us).
These policies are subject to change upon guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota State High School League.
