Reports: Twins free agent Kubel going to Arizona Diamondbacks

Multiple media outlets are reporting that free-agent outfielder Jason Kubel has agreed to terms with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Kubel, 29, was originally drafted by the Twins in 2000 in the 12th round. He hit .273 with 12 home runs and 58 RBIs for Minnesota in 2011, but he was injured for part of the season.

Kubel is the third significant Twin to leave via free agency this winter.

According to, the deal will pay Kubel $15 million for two years with an option for a third year, provided he passes a physical.
