Nevis, which defeated the Mustangs 80-49 on Jan. 27, improved to 10-2 in the conference and 19-3 overall while Northome-Kelliher fell to 1-10 in conference games and 5-15 overall. Blackduck, Cass Lake-Bena and Red Lake all share second place in the conference standings with 8-3 records.
“We were able to jump out to an early lead and coast down the stretch,” said Nevis head coach Scott Kramer. “I thought we got some good looks on offense and they didn’t get many uncontested shots, which enabled us to take a double-figure lead into the half.”
