Tatum Offerdahl took first in two events to capture the all-around title in leading Bemidji to a 141.45-122.425 victory over the Park Rapids-Menahga-Nevis gymnastics team in the Panthers’ home finale at the Area High School gym on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Offerdahl led the field with a 9.35 in floor exercise and a 9.30 on uneven parallel bars for a 36.45 all-around score. Lauren Berg took first in vault with a 9.10 and was the runner-up in all-around with a 35.15 while Leah Lucas received a 9.25 on balance beam to lead the way.
The Panthers opened this dual meet on floor and used Halle Landstrom’s 8.80, Morgan Koppelman’s 8.20, Abby Kirlin’s 7.40 and Erica Johnson’s 6.90 for a 31.30 team score. Natalie Backmann had a 6.55.
Bemidji swept the top-five spots on beam where Landstrom’s 8.05, Koppelman’s 7.775, Backmann’s 6.75 and Kirlin’s 6.60 led the Panthers to a 29.175. Johnson’s 6.10 rounded out Park Rapids’ beam team.
Landstrom’s 7.60, Koppelman’s 7.20, Johnson’s 7.00 and Ally Holmer’s 6.70 gave the Panthers a 28.50 score on bars. Backmann received a 5.55 as Bemidji swept the top-five spots in that event.
Park Rapids closed in vault where Landstrom’s 8.80, Koppelman’s 8.55, Kirlin’s 8.20 and Johnson’s 7.90 produced a 33.45 team score. Backman added a 7.70.
Landstrom took fourth in all-around with a 33.25, Koppelman was fifth with a 31.725, Johnson finished sixth with a 27.90 and Backman was seventh with a 26.55.
Bemidji also won the junior varsity meet by a 123.35-100.10 margin.
The loss dropped Park Rapids to 2-3 in dual meet. Bemidji entered this meet rated No. 5 in the latest state Class AA poll with a 141.46 average.
