Park Rapids’ Rilee Michaelson was one of 22 players named to the 2019 Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association All-State Class AA Team.

Michaelson, a senior hitter, led the Panthers with 509 kills and 59 blocks while tallying 285 digs, 31 ace serves and 125 service points in 31 matches and 95 sets to earn All-State Honorable Mention honors. Michaelson had double digits in kills in 29 of the Panthers’ 31 matches (including at least 20 kills in six matches) with a high of 29 and had double digits in digs in 16 matches with a high of 19. Those numbers helped Park Rapids repeat as Mid-State Conference champions with a 5-0 record, return to the Section 8AA title match and finish with a 23-8 record.

Headlining the 14-member All-State Class AA team were North Branch senior outside hitter Cianna Selbitschka, Marshall senior middle hitter Paige Andries, Belle Plaine senior right-side hitter Mikayla Coops, Concordia Academy junior outside hitter Kira Fallert, Eden Valley-Watkins senior outside hitter Halle Jensenk, Stewartville junior middle hitter Erin Lamb, Holy Angels senior outside hitter Lauren Link, Annandale senior outside hitter Abby Neutz, Stewartville senior outside hitter Kaitlyn Prondzinski, Marshall senior libero Mia Schnaible, Rockford senior outside hitter Molly Schultz, Marshall senior setter Logan Sherman, Kasson-Mantorville senior hitter Emilee Terry and Concordia Academy junior setter Brooke Weichbrodt.

Joining Michaelson as All-State Honorable Mention players were Stewartville junior setter Jaidyn Brower, Southwest Christian sophomore outside hitter Estelle Haugen, New London-Spicer junior right-side hitter Ashlyn Olson, Proctor senior right-side hitter Sam Pogatchnik, Watertown-Mayer junior outside hitter Paige Thibault, Sauk Centre senior middle hitter McKenna Westby and Jackson County Central senior outside hitter Alaina Wolff.

Wadena-Deer Creek senior middle hitter Kennedy Gravelle also received all-state honors as one of the eight players named to the Class A Honorable Mention Team.
