Three area runners completed in the 38th annual Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon on Sunday, Oct. 6.
Arik Hillukka of Menahga finished No. 1,927 overall out of 6,743 runners with a time of 3:54:36. Hillukka was No. 1,408 out of 3,846 men and No. 369 out of 873 in the men’s 22-29 age division.
Brian Garlie of Park Rapids finished No. 2,142 overall, No. 1,538 in the men’s division and No. 217 out of 502 runners in the men’s 40-44 age group with a time of 3:58:02.
Kelly Ringer of Park Rapids finished No. 4,202 overall, No. 1,518 out of 2,894 women and No. 261 out of 491 runners in the women’s 35-39 age group with a time of 4:36:27.
Dominic Ondora of Sante Fe, New Mexico, won the men’s title in 2:12:23 while Julia Kohnen of Florissant, Missouri, won the women’s title in 2:31:29.
The 26.2-mile race started in downtown Minneapolis (a block from U.S. Bank Stadium) and went around three lakes (Bde Maka Ska, Harriet and Nakomis) before traveling along the Mississippi River and finishing at the State Capitol.
