Inclement weather forced the Park Rapids football game at East Grand Forks on Friday night (Sept. 20) to be postponed.

East Grand Forks held a 14-8 lead with 2:08 to play in the third quarter when a storm hit. The game will resume starting at 5 p.m. on Monday (Sept. 23) at East Grand Forks.

The Green Wave took a 7-0 lead on a 22-yard touchdown pass from Sam Votava to Nate Willett with 8:27 to play in the first quarter and extended that lead to 14-0 on Votava’s 4-yard TD pass to Brandon Anderson with 5:54 to play before halftime.

Park Rapids, which was stopped on fourth-and-goal at the EGF 1-yard line on the final play of the first half, used a 16-play, 80-yard drive to cut the gap to 14-8. A 10-yard run by Caleb David, a 7-yard run by Jens Anderson on fourth-and-1, a pass interference call on fourth-and-7 and a 10-yard pass from Anderson to Jeff Haas on fourth-and-6 set up a 15-yard TD pass from Anderson to Nick Michaelson at the 2:08 mark. Anderson ran in the conversion when the game was halted.
