Huckbody to battle Wagner during North Star Combat 10
Nevis' Collin Huckbody will battle Nick Wagner for the North Star Combat Middleweight Championship in one of the feature bouts of NSC 10 at Walker's Northern Lights Casino on Saturday, March 23.
The mixed martial arts card begins at 7 p.m. Huckbody enters the fight with a 5-2 record while Wagner is 8-6-1. Huckbody is the No. 8-rated middleweight in Minnesota and is rated No. 54 in the Midwest and No. 157 in the United States. Tickets for the event are $19, $29 and $39.
Huckbody (a 6-foot-2, 185-pounder who trains in St. Cloud) posted a 5-1-1 amateur record before turning pro. Huckbody made his pro debut by defeating Travis McCullough by submission in 1:55 with a rear naked choke hold. That fight was on March 18, 2017 during Extreme Beatdown 20.
At the KOTC Firestarter event on June 19, 2017, Huckbody defeated Tom Krenzel by submission in 1:12 with an arm triangle choke hold. Huckbody suffered his first professional defeat when J.P. Saint Louis used a Guillotine choke hold to force a submission in 1:16 during Driller Promotion's Mercy 6 event on Sept. 30, 2017.
Huckbody rebounded from that loss to defeat James Roland by submission in 1:39 with an arm triangle choke hold during Mercy 7 on Feb. 10, 2018.
After losing a unanimous decision to Bevon Lewis at the LFA 38 event on April 27, 2018, Huckbody posted a unanimous decision over Krenzel at North Star Combat 9 on Sept. 21, 2018. Huckbody began 2019 with a unanimous decision over Charlie Brown at the Pure Fighting Championships on Jan. 25.
