Kayla Sayvoitz and Kylee Hopp scored two goals apiece as Prairie Centre gained a share of the Mid-State Conference title with a 7-1 win over the Park Rapids-Menahga-Nevis-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley girls hockey team at Wadena on Jan. 22.

The win gave the Blue Devils a 5-1 record to tie Northern Lakes atop the conference standings. Detroit Lakes finished at 2-4 while the Panthers ended at 0-6 in Mid-State action.

Hopp scored twice in the first period while goals by Allie Lemke and Sayvoitz gave Prairie Centre a 4-0 lead. The Blue Devils outshot Park Rapids 17-5 in the first period.

Goals by Reece Ritter and Sayvoitz extended Prairie Centre's lead to 6-0 after the second period as Prairie Centre held a 10-3 edge in shots.

Alexa Kennedy scored at the 7:51 mark of the third period as the Panthers avoided the shutout. Kiana Landt assisted on that goal. Shelby Otte ended the scoring as Prairie Centre used a 16-2 advantage in shots in that period and a 43-10 edge in the game to improve to 11-11 on the season.

Goalie Kylie Pachel made 36 saves for the Panthers, who failed to score on seven power-play chances in falling to 0-19 overall.
