Raph, Hirschey spark PR-B's win over Braves

Brady Raph scored 24 points and Torry Hirschey added 21 points as the Pine River-Backus boys basketball team opened the season with a 69-55 victory at Menahga Tuesday night (Dec. 4).

Louis Bueckers added 11 points for the Tigers, who made 7 of 21 3-pointers.

Charlie Hodge led the Braves with 14 points while Tristan Aho (10), Zach Floyd (9), Gavin Hillukka (9) and Wade Berttunen (9) combined for 37 points. Howard grabbed nine rebounds and Floyd had five steals as Menahga fell to 1-1 on the season. The Braves made 8 of 33 3-pointers.
