Braves serve way to win over Sebeka

Combining 12 ace serves with 45 kills led the Menahga volleyball team to a 3-1 Park Region Conference win over Sebeka Thursday night at Sebeka.

Jessica Pietila and Cierra Ahlf served three aces each while Madi Marjamaa and Tara Hendrickson had 12 kills apiece in leading the Braves to a 25-19, 17-25, 25-21, 25-23 victory.

Marjamaa and Hendrickson served two aces each while Olivia Yliniemi also hit double figures with 10 kills. Marjamaa set up 29 of those kills as the Braves had 22 hitting errors while putting 77 of 91 serves in play.

On defense, Hendrickson had four solo blocks while Pietila (29), Rena Pinoniemi (26), Ahlf (21), Marjamaa (19) and Maryn Pinoniemi (11) had the majority of the Braves' 124 digs.

The win lifted Menahga's record to 2-3 in conference matches and 8-11 overall. Sebeka fell to 0-5 in the conference and 6-11 overall.
