There will be a fall rules meeting for Park Rapids athletes and their parents on Wednesday, July 31, starting at 6 p.m. in the Area High School Auditorium. Athletes who are planning on competing in a fall sport are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting.

Agenda items at this meeting include registration procedures, going over rules and guidelines, listing sports starting dates and schedules, and meeting with coaches of each fall sport. The athletic training department will also be providing information and common questions about the athletic handbook will be answered.

Athletes who are planning to participate in a fall sport and are unable to attend this meeting must watch the rules video before they will be allowed to practice. All athletes should be registered to participate in a fall sport at least one week prior to the start of the season. Athletes are also reminded to have up-to-date physicals on file at the high school office. Physicals must be renewed every three years.

No student-athlete will be allowed to participate in practices until all paperwork is complete and all fees have been paid. A copy of the activities handbook and all necessary forms can be found at the school website (www.parkrapidsk12.mn.us). Click on the “QuickLinks” tab and then click the tab under “Athletics/Activities Registration” to access the page. Parents can complete all MSHSL forms, find activity documents and pay fees at this site.

Varsity practices for all fall sports begin Monday, Aug. 12. Practices for all Middle School athletics will begin on Monday, Aug. 19.
