Panthers stay undefeated in duals with 6-1 win over W-DC

     Six straight-set wins Tuesday at the Depot Courts kept the Park Rapids girls tennis team undefeated on the season.

     The Panthers won the top three singles matches and swept the doubles matches to defeat Wadena-Deer Creek 6-1 in a Mid-State Conference dual meet. The win lifted Park Rapids to 7-0 in dual meets this season.

     Julia Smith, Hope Johnson and Charity Ridlon coasted to singles wins while the Julia Renner/Christina Smith, Lindsey Girtz/Sarena Kinkel and Ali Walsh/Morgan Knott doubles teams combined to drop only three games.

     Natalie Kinkel won the first game at No. 4 singles, but had to retire with an elbow injury.

No. 1 singles: Julia Smith, PR, over Paige Hartman 6-2, 6-3.

No. 2 singles: Hope Johnson, PR, over Maddy Hinojos 6-1, 6-1.

No. 3 singles: Charity Ridlon, PR, over Erin Johnson 6-1, 6-2.

No. 4 singles: Abby Westrom, W-DC, over Natalie Kinkel 0-1, retired.

No. 1 doubles: Julia Renner/Christina Smith, PR, over Ashley Carlson/Whitney Eickhof 6-0, 6-0.

No. 2 doubles: Sarena Kinkel/Lindsey Girtz, PR, over Abby Wegscheid/Elyse Kallevig 6-2, 6-0.

No. 3 doubles: Ali Walsh/Morgan Knott, PR, over Anna Kraemer/Sarah Moen 6-0, 6-1.
