The Itascatur Outdoor Activity Club is again hosting open houses at the Soaring Eagle Ski Trails, which are located eight miles north of Park Rapids, off of U.S. Hwy. 71.

Open houses will occur on Sunday afternoons from 1-3 p.m., beginning Jan. 9 through Feb. 27. The club will cancel the open house if the temperature is below 0, or if snow conditions are not favorable for skiing. Check their Facebook page for any cancellations.

Skis, boots and poles of nearly all sizes are available for folks to borrow. They also have a pulk, which is basically a sled that can be pulled behind a skier.

There are snowshoes available to enjoy on the newly created trails.

A Minnesota Ski Pass is required for anyone over 16. It can be purchased online or at a number of establishments. Snowshoers are not required to have a pass.
