VAL CHATEL

Commissioner Mark “Chip” Lohmeier has a proposed operating budget for Deep Lake Park, the county’s new year-round recreational park. It’s located on the site of the former Val Chatel ski resort, about four miles north of Emmaville.
The former Val Chatel ski area is officially in county hands.
Earning regional status opens up funding sources for the county's development of a recreational park at the former Val Chatel property.
Trust for Public Lands is set to purchase the property from the current owner in early 2022 through the generosity of two private individuals. TPL would then donate the parcel to the county via limited warranty deed.

This week, Hubbard County hired SRF Consulting Group, Inc. of Minneapolis to develop a master plan for a potential new county park on the Val Chatel property.
The Trust for Public Land (TPL) approached Hubbard County about teaming up to acquire the Val Chatel property, a former ski lodge and supper club located at 32546 County 4.
