NIMROD

On Feb. 4 at 7:15 p.m., emergency dispatchers received a report of a barn fire north of Nimrod, Minn., and were advised the structure housed several goats. The barn was fully engulfed upon arrival.
The competition was part of the 2022 Nimrod Jubilee Days, Sept. 2-4.
With its number of residents and name’s meaning in American English slang, a town like Nimrod — population 69 — is bound to get noticed by anyone who sees a sign for the town on a northwestern Minnesota highway. And while the curiously named rural Wadena County town tends to keep on the quieter side, its streets will teem with people this Labor Day weekend during its annual “Jubilee Days” celebration.
It's unknown if the device, possibly from the Korean War era, was still live or not. The Crow Wing County Bomb Squad took possession of the mortar to dispose of it in a safe manner.
