A column recently penned by the Hubbard County DFL claimed that democracy is threatened by income inequality.

Nothing could be further from the truth, and that column was just another attempt by the Democratic Party to shift our focus away from what really does threaten democracy – that being the Democratic Party platform.

The policies championed by the DFL strangle U.S. citizens with regulation and bureaucracy, keeping them from developing businesses that employ people, provide dignity and foster self-respect. These are genuine threats to democracy because they undermine our God-given freedoms that this nation was founded upon.

The Democrats claim the wealthy don’t pay their taxes, but they can’t seem to understand when the top 10% of earners pay 70% of the taxes, the rich are not getting out of paying taxes.

Additionally, when the Democrats raise corporate tax rates, the increases are directly passed along to the consumer, who are then seeing their dollar buy less. This is the same as a tax hike on the poor and everyone else.

Democrats point fingers at the wealthy, but if you ask a wealthy Democrat (of which there are many!) when was the last time they gave more to the government than required in the name of paying their fair share, all you’ll hear will be crickets.

They commonly employ tactics to pit one group of people against another to “buy” the vote of the group who feels victimized, which is always going to be a majority of society. It’s just a tactic to gain political power for themselves.

The Democrats ask in their column “what role can government play in equalizing income?” The most important thing is to stay out of our lives. Freedom is what people need to make educated choices about their future, and more government is not conducive to increasing freedom.

Another helpful thing would be to stop incentivising citizens to not work by encouraging them to remain on unemployment or other government programs. Yes, it’s another way to buy votes.

Democratic policies, which take money from one group in order to give it to another, are thinly disguised attempts to buy your vote.

Please join those of us who want to leave a free country to the next generation by standing in unity against the DFL pro-communist agenda.
