As a retired attorney, I am sad and scared. I watched our federal administrative branch violate the constitutional separation of powers by refusing lawful Congressional subpoenas for documents, while instructing all administrative staff to do the same by refusing to testify before Congress.
I then watched the Congressional branch of our government refuse to exercise its constitutional obligations and hold this unlawful administration accountable.
I placed my last remaining hope in our judicial branch of government, especially in light of U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts’ statement in the fall of 2018 in response to President Trump’s attack on a federal judge who had ruled against the administration. Yet this week, the independence of our Justice Department was thrown from the roof of Attorney General Barr’s office and shattered on the streets of Washington, D.C.
Four patriots, esteemed career federal prosecutors, did something all but one Republican Senator refused to do: Stand up to this administration. They resigned from the case in protest over this administration’s corrupt takeover of our Justice Department.
Trump is trying to corrupt the last remaining branch of our federal government. If we let him succeed, he will for the first time in our history gain control of our entire U.S. government. If he is re-elected, he will have no restrictions on his power. Nothing would stop him, at the end of his term, from changing the law to become President for life! He has already said how much he admires that quality of the Chinese head of state.

The 2011 National Assessment of Educational Progress said, “Only one in 10 demonstrated acceptable knowledge of the checks and balances among the legislative, executive and judicial branches.”
How do voters hold our President accountable if we have no idea of the Constitution or the separation of powers? Whether you are Democrats, Republicans or Independents, you must educate yourself on what is happening. And you must vote!
Please do not think, “This couldn't happen here.” It has happened throughout human history. To stop the prophecy of a new king born to threaten his power, King Herod slaughtered the innocents (Matthew 2:13-23).
Please care about the history and future of our country. Study history. Study current facts. Listen to all respected people, not just those on Fox News or MSNBC. Understand, think, and act to save our cherished rule of law, the U.S. Constitution.
