I was an Honor Flight participant on Oct. 19-20. It was an awesome experience of Christian love for fellow man.
Soldiers, draftees and enlistees from World War II to the present were the honorees who were called to participate in the flight to Washington, D.C.
We saw the National Archives, the memorials and Arlington National Cemetery with the changing of the guard. The volunteers pushed wheelchairs for those whose mobility was limited.
Our status on this trip was as VIP. Our charter flight from Fargo included the volunteer personnel who provided all imaginable veteran needs, including doctors and nurses.
We traveled by bus, led by police escorts throughout our visit, accompanied by volunteers.

Donors provided the funds, but the volunteers sincerely made it happen. Their care of the veterans gripped our emotions that was further climaxed by the public welcome at Fargo Hector Airport.
We veterans are truly loved by our fellow Americans. God bless America!
