Our grandma and longtime Park Rapids resident, Else Hinds, passed away. She spent her last three years at Heritage Living Center's nursing home. On behalf of her 25-plus grandchildren (!) and seven children, thank you Heritage staff and leadership for your attention, love and care. Thank you, Park Rapids, for the beautiful facility – a reflection of the community's values. One month before she died, at age 94, grandma wrote this ode to home:
Home Sweet Home
I have a bit of Heritage in my heart
Have too much Heritage in my heart?

Too much of cribbage and dominoes and bingo will be my ruin.
Please take me back to the farm
With the smell of the trees and the birds and the bees
Soon I had too much of the farm in my heart
I felt a loneliness for Heritage for all the activities and my friends.
No more do I want to live alone
I feel I'm home with my family at Heritage
No more will I roam

For Heritage is my home.
