LETTER: Support CHI St. Joseph Health’s services

Letters to the Editor stock image

We are very fortunate to have a hospital – and one that focuses on many aspects of personal as well as community health. Continually researching and acquiring grant funding has brought so many additional services to our community. We now have a community dental clinic. We had additional mental health services brought in and access to public transportation expanded. The physical therapy/cardiac rehab program has given us personal trainer services, exercise classes, yoga. Nutrition education, weight loss programs are just a few – all due to our hospital's commitment to our community.

I truly appreciate my primary care provider who works through Essentia Health and am glad to see that additional space has been created for those providers to work with their clients. They also have added services that are already being offered by our hospital. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, scans, MRI to name some with day surgery coming.

That being said, it is important for us to remember that the hospital offers these same services and if we are in need of them, we need to know the hospital is a choice and don't automatically accept the referral or appointment being offered.

Let’s continue to support our hospital, which has served our best interest for decades.
