LETTER: Risking the future for a few temporary jobs
It amazes me how many people are willing to gamble on the future of our younger generations and planet by supporting a project that is not needed but if completed is certain to have many negative environmental impacts.
We are already seeing severe flooding, fire and droughts due to the use and production of fossil fuels. Risking the planet, our local waters and future generations for a few temporary jobs seems like madness to me.
Renewable energy is cost-competitive now and prices are continuing to fall. What we need is governmental support to create a path to clean energy.
