LETTER: How long will Park Villa be under quarantine?

I am writing this letter about Park Villa and the things that are going on here.

A letter was sent to HUD because repairs are not being done. We had an emergency light out in July 2019 and a dryer not fixed for two months. But when Ecumen directors found out about the letter, everything got fixed.

Park Villa residents’ rent goes into Heritage Manor bank accounts, so we are wondering why we don’t see improvements.

Ecumen considers us independent, but people are independent at other HUD apartments and still have rug swept, windows cleaned and repairs done.

We also have an elderly woman who got hurt and was not able to clean her apartment, so her daughter was cleaning it and taking her laundry to her home. She was reprimanded for that, but an aide can come in and help a person after being to one to four client’s homes and carry the virus in.

We had a family come to celebrate a Heritage resident birthday. They were eating ice cream and were not wearing masks, but how can you eat ice cream with a mask on? She was reprimanded for being with family and no masks.

We have families moving in and out while on quarantine. It seems that is OK.

A letter says Park Villa residents cannot use the beauty shop in Heritage Manor as of July 2. Now that the governor states that beauty and barber shops may open, Heritage cannot deprive us of our rights.

How long can Park Villa residents be quarantined? A month or a year? I see residents spirit and health diminishing. We do not pay

Our families cannot visit with us in the dining room, but the residents can gather there, especially when no management is here.

They are not practicing social distancing. Park Villa used to have bingo and potluck, but now they can’t have that.
