Parks and trails enhance the quality of life in Park Rapids. Residents and visitors alike enjoy opportunities to spend time in outdoor public spaces. The parks and beautification board of the city of Park Rapids invites the public to review and comment on an update of the city’s parks and trails master plan. The original plan was adopted in 2008. Many wonderful improvements have been added to our parks since then. The parks and beautification board has been working with city staff to update the plan. The master plan guides future development. The draft plan update can be found on the City of Park Rapids website under “Latest Events” or under “Departments/Parks and Recreation.”

Please send comments to Andrew Mack, city planner, at a.mack@arvig.net or mail to Andrew Mack, 212 Second St. W, Park Rapids, MN 56470.

Another opportunity to comment will be at the planning commission’s public hearing at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25 at Park Rapids City Hall.

At this time, the parks and beautification board has an open seat. The board meets at noon on the second Monday of each month. Board members do not need to be vity residents. For more information, contact Sue Cutler at 218-252-2187.
