I was surprised to see that the Park Rapids Community Band was not mentioned in the article of the 4th of July celebration. They played a concert in Heartland Park just prior to the fireworks. A large crowd was gathered to enjoy the concert and was much appreciated. Also, I understand from Linda Smith that she will no longer be doing her very popular recipe column due to budget constraints. Her recipes have enriched many kitchens. Even though Linda no longer lives in the area, technology makes it possible for her to do her column from anywhere and maybe she can introduce new foods and ways to prepare our favorite foods here.
