I would like to start off this article by saying we and the animals here miss our wonderful volunteers and visitors.
COVID threw a curveball at many businesses and has made this year very hard for families. The staff would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Stay safe! We hope to see all of you soon!
Since March 2020, the shelter has been operating with limited access for adoptions, surrenders and donations only. We are open our normal hours for phone calls, emergencies or questions about the animals listed on our website.
Adopters are required to call to schedule an appointment. They can have up to three dogs or cats selected to view during their appointment. A pre-adopt is required to be completed by either phone or email. This helps us get to know your household and what you are looking for. Personalities of the animals are described by staff who spend time evaluating their temperament and put time into figuring out which home situation would be best for the cat or dog.
During the appointment, adopters are required to wear a mask, and if they are showing any symptoms of COVID-19, they are told to stay home. If one were to fall sick before the appointment, arrangements can be made and holds for the animal they would like can be done. It is vital that the shelter staff remain healthy! There are only a handful of us, and the pets rely on us for their care, management and wellbeing.
If you are interested in a dog or cat listed on our website, or petfinder, give us a call at 218-237-7100.
Don’t forget, our “Home for the Holiday” sale ends on Dec. 31. All cats over 6 months are $50.
