Recently, there has been an uptick in contamination at the rural recycling dumpsters. It is important to remember when visiting a recycling shed/dumpster to only put acceptable recyclables in there.
As a reminder, only the following can be recycled: No. 1 and 2 plastics, paper, glass, cardboard, and aluminum and tin cans. If you have any questions or are unsure if an item can be recycled, check out www.co.hubbard.mn.us/waste or call 218-237-1460.
Hubbard County residents that live near Beltrami County can now sign up and register to participate in a new program to utilize the Beltrami County transfer station in Bemidji as an alternative to the Laporte transfer station. There is a yearly registration fee that covers administrative costs, and for participating residents to continue to use Hubbard County Transfer Stations. Once registered, you will get an identification card, which is valid for one year, and will need to display it when using the Bemidji Transfer Station. Hubbard County residents would then follow the same guidelines and fee schedule as Beltrami County residents. The residential solid waste assessment will go towards covering disposal costs incurred by Beltrami County. To register for this program, visit the website listed above or contact Hubbard County Solid Waste.
