Rose Marie Ward

Rose Marie Ward (Anderson), 61 of Park Rapids passed away at her home on Sunday October 25th. Services have been postponed.

Rose was born in 1959 to Ella Mae (Gilleshammer) and Derrald ‘Slim’ Anderson. She grew up in Park Rapids and graduated from High School in 1977. In 1978, Rose met Donald Pearson, Jr and gave birth to their daughter, Alissa. Rose graduated from the Detroit Lakes Vo Tech for business management. She went on to have a long and fulfilling career with Heartland Homes. Rose loved all the residents and put her heart and soul into her work.

Rose married the love of her life, Jonathon Ward in 1998. They made their home in Park Rapids and soon welcomed their beloved grandsons, Ian and Jack Mickelson. They were truly her “Pride and Joy”. She was their number one cheerleader.

Rose was a lover of all music, introduced to it by her dad, Slim Anderson. As a young girl she would sing with his country western band, and also with her younger brother, Rile, when he picked up a guitar.

Rose is survived by her husband Jonathon Ward of Park Rapids, sister Edythe (Arthur) Paquette of Park Rapids, daughter Alissa (Eric) Mickelson of Glyndon, grandsons Ian Mickelson and Jack Mickelson of Glyndon, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much and was so proud of.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, brother Derrald ‘Rile’ Anderson, and sisters Patricia and Vicky.
