Kathleen M. Leeseberg

Kathleen Marilyn Leeseberg, age 80, of Nevis, MN died at home on Thursday, July 9, 2020.

Kathleen M. Dennis was born on January 3, 1940 in Park Rapids the daughter of Ira M. and Wallberga R. (Schmid) Dennis. She grew up and attended the Lake Emma Country Grade School. She then went to school in Park Rapids where she was salutatorian for the 1957 graduating class. In 1960 she was united in marriage to her forever soul mate Richard Leeseberg in Akeley, MN. They built their home on the Leeseberg farm where they raised their four boys, living their lives until they both passed away at home. Kathleen worked as a secretary for an attorney, receptionist at the St. Joseph’s Hospital and she also cooked for a caterer. She was a proud wife and mom, and was eager to help with the operation of the dairy and beef cattle farm. She was an active member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Akeley, MN. She was a loving, caring mother who always put her family first. She was a great cook and baker. She always made sure the boys did not go without. She loved the Lord and shared this love with her family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, raising beautiful flowers and feeding the many kinds of birds that came to visit. She is survived by her four sons – Timothy Leeseberg of Nevis, MN; Randy (Kay) Leeseberg of Park Rapids, MN; Scott (Dawn) Leeseberg of Park Rapids, MN; Thomas (Darcie) Leeseberg of Hillsboro, ND; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren; sister in laws - Elizabeth Jenkins of Carson City, NV; and Nancy Leeseberg of Park Rapids, MN; her “brother in law” – Ralph Sanquist of Park Rapids, MN and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Her husband – Richard; sister – Virginia Schmiedeberg and two brothers - Pat Dennis, and Marvin Dennis.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Akeley. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.
