Frank E. Moody

Frank Edwin Moody, 79, of Park Rapids, MN passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Born on June 5, 1941 to Arnold Beecher Moody and Frances (Dobbs) Moody in Park Rapids, he moved with his family soon after to Chicago, IL and spent the summers in Park Rapids, MN, enjoying the lake cabin and fishing. In March of 1964, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. By 1965, he decided to make the military his career. He entered and graduated from Officer Candidate School in Fort Benning, GA. He spent two tours in Vietnam as an Infantry Officer. He finished his career in 1994 at the rank of Colonel. While in the Army, he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Political Science from Pepperdine University. In 1994, he was nominated and inducted into the Officer Infantry School Hall of Fame in Fort Benning, GA. Frank always joked that he “proudly served for 30 years and 15 days, but who’s counting!”

Frank was united in marriage to Rosemary Beisner on June 11, 1966. This union was blessed with a daughter, Catherine, and a son, John. The family lived in various locations throughout the United States as they moved with Frank’s career. Frank and Rosemary retired to Park Rapids in 2000.

Frank enjoyed fishing, reading, and spending time with his family. He was an active member of Trinity Episcopal-Presbyterian Church of Park Rapids and was a certified Lay Pastor of the Presbyterian Church.

Frank is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosemary, of Park Rapids; daughter, Catherine (Michael) Gordon of Northville, MI; son, John (GeAnna) Moody of Sartell, MN; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Gordon, Mason Moody, Milee Gordon and Graydon Moody.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Frances; sister, Joan Sabador; and nephew, Michael Sabador.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, June 24, 2021 in Park Rapids, MN at Trinity Episcopal Presbyterian Church with luncheon to follow. Burial with Honors will be held at Camp Ripley’s Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN at 9:00 AM on Friday, June 25th.
