Eloise V. Carey

Eloise Vivian Carey, 90, of Bagley, MN went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 28, 2020 at the Cornerstone Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born on September 28, 1929 to John and Grace (Amoth) Johnson on the family farm near Mentor, MN. She was united in marriage to Paul L. Carey on August 5, 1961 in Park Rapids, MN.

Eloise worked for Ringer’s Manufacturing of Park Rapids. She was a devoted housewife. She loved to bake and always had cookies for the kids to sneak. She had a servant’s heart. She was up early in the morning until late at night to make sure everyone was fed and taken care of.

Eloise was a selfless, funny and caring Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She taught us to always hug, say “I love you” before hanging up the phone, to wave goodbye until you can’t see them anymore, to be feisty when it is called for, and to never forget family comes first!

The world is truly a better place because she was in our lives!

Eloise is survived by her children, John (Cheri) Carey of Bemidji, MN, Wayne Carey of Bemidji, Joleen Carey of Lakeland, FL, Jim (Pat) Carey of Bemidji, Barb Rezac of Brainerd, MN, Dave (Terry) Carey of Cottonwood, AZ, and Dianna Weiland of Waconia, MN; 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul; her daughter, Barb Slover; her son-in-laws, Tom Weiland, Gary Slover, and Joe Rezac; her siblings, Cy Johnson, Helen Sundsrud, and Melva Roed.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Cease Family Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery of Park Rapids, MN.
