Darryl Satkoski was born May 20, 1947 in LaPorte, Indiana to Joseph Bruno Satkoski and Helen Stella (Salat) Satkoski. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. When he returned from service he pursued a career in building trades. Darryl worked as a plumber pipe-fitter for thirty years. He was very active in various church groups and attended Faithbridge Church in Park Rapids. Darryl participated in several mission trips to Kenya, Niger, Guatemala and Mexico, where he utilized his background in plumbing to help construct water systems and orphanages. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, horseback riding and motorcycle riding.
On July 10, 2021 Darryl passed away near Detroit Lakes, MN. Preceded in death by both of his parents; two siblings: Joseph Bruno Satkoski Jr.; Christopher Joseph Satkoski; and son Peter Joseph Satkoski.
Left to cherish his memories are his two daughters: Pamela Satkoski of Detroit Lakes; Mary Satkoski (Shane) Cuomo of Charleston, SC; four siblings: sister Phyllis (Delayne) Ott of LaPorte, IN; brother Sam (Diane) Satkoski of Stevensville, MI; sister Joanie (Rich) Zolvinski of LaPorte; brother Al (Kris) Satkoski of LaPorte; his long-time companion, Linda Hanninen of Menahga; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Memorial service will be Saturday July 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Faithbridge Church in Park Rapids, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 19, 2021 at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little falls, Minnesota.
