Sylvan Gordon Buggert

Sylvan Gordon Buggert, 92, of Park Rapids, MN died on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at his home.

Sylvan was born at home on May 19, 1927 at Stately Township, Brown County, Minnesota the son of Gordon Henry and Edythe Anne (Stock) Buggert. He grew up and attended school in Comfery, MN, where he graduated from high school in 1944. He was united in marriage to Betty E. Kamolz on June 15, 1947 in Springfield, MN. They lived in Comfrey, MN where they ventured into a diversified farming operation. They operated their farm and raised their 6 children there. After 23 years, in 1970 they left farming and relocated to New Ulm, MN, where Sylvan worked at the 3M plant as a maintenance mechanic keeping the manufacturing machines operating. Following their retirement in 1985, Betty and Sylvan moved to Park Rapids, MN where they have resided since. They were fortunate to have spent 22 winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. Sylvan was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church in Park Rapids, MN. He was a longtime active Mason, belonging to the Shell Lodge #184 of Park Rapids, where he also was a member of the Eastern Star. He and Betty were advanced square dancers. Betty passed away in 2015.

He is survived by his children - Suzanne Enright of Mesa, AZ; William (Barry) Buggert of Park Rapids, MN; Robert (Renee) Buggert of Park Rapids, MN; Roger (Elizabeth) Buggert of Alexandria, MN; Mary (Glen) Roiger of Alexandria, MN; 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. His dear friend - Hildie Niemala of Park Rapids, MN.

He was preceded in death by his spouse - Betty, his son - Paul, and his - sister - Gloria Kettner.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Riverside United Methodist Church of Park Rapids, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Friends may leave online condolences at ceasefuneralhome.com.
