Terry Allen was born October 1, 1945 in Pine River, MN to Albert Gustov and Laura Esther (Larson) Thoreson. He was the youngest of 5 children. At the time they were living with Esther's (she didn't like the name Laura!) father and mother, Nels Marius Larson and Olivia Isabel (Fingerson) Larson. In the early 50's Terry's family moved to Park Rapids where they have resided ever since. Terry attended country school and graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1964.

Upon graduating, he moved to the cities and lived and worked with his cousin, Gene Cory and uncle Jim. For a time he worked in the bus garage also. He was drafted November 18, 1965: did basic training in both Washington and Oklahoma; arrived in Vietnam 9/15/66 and served until 9/7/67. He was honorably discharged from the reserves in 1971. He had been exposed to Agent Orange and suffered the consequences

He began his house painting career back home in Park Rapids. He met Gloria Jean Gritz in 1972 and they were married in her hometown of Lincoln, NE in 1973 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. They were blessed with 3 children, Tiffany Alicia, Tyler Matthew and Kyle Tait.

Terry loved everything related to the outdoors. Every season brought new adventures that his wife didn't fully appreciate! Fishing in the boat, on the ice, snowmobiling, deer hunting, grouse hunting and duck hunting. He loved Minnesota and all it had to offer. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard LeRoy and sister, Nileen Ruth (Robert Glen) Gully.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean; Children, Tiffany Alicia, Tyler Matthew and Kyle Tait (Marla Jean); grandchildren, Natalie Jean, Hunter Tait and Emma Rose; sister-in-law, Louise Arlene (Dissmore) Thoreson; sisters, Helen LaVonne (Donald Roy) Barr, Betty Eldora (Rodney Gene) Holte and numerous nieces and nephews.
