Ralph Ladislaus Notch, 77, of Park Rapids passed away at his home at New Frontier Resort on Long Lake with his family by his side.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 19 at Our Lady of the Pines in Nevis, with a visitation one hour prior. The family will continue honoring Ralph's life at Necce's Italian Restaurant in Park Rapids immediately following the service on Saturday. Interment will be in the Jim Cook Cemetery. Ralph was born December 21, 1941 to Lawrence and Alma (Butkowski) Notch in Melrose, Minnesota. He attended Crosier Seminary school and graduated from Melrose High School with the class of 1960. He joined the United States Army after high school and was stationed in Germany with military intelligence.
On April 23, 1966 Ralph married Sharon Suski in Richfield Minnesota. Together they raised their four children.
Ralph began work after the military with Pillsbury in Minneapolis, was Vice President of International Sales for Hypro and the general manager for General Pump. Ralph was honored of his accomplishment starting and retiring from AR North America. His dedication, brilliance and legacy truly affected many across the world. He was the 2015 CETA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.
In 1982, He and Sharon bought the New Frontier Resort in Park Rapids, Minnesota and have enjoyed friends, family and guests who have entered their lives to this day.
He did enjoy traveling the world, golfing, snowmobiling, water skiing in the moonlight, fishing, and tending to all duties at the resort. His love for kids and willing to make everyone laugh will be remembered often, as his work ethic, talent and pure love for his family and dear friends.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sheri; children, Michelle (Loren) Jacobs, Kyle (Anna Dalton) Notch, Jon Notch and Julie (Jay Kimble) Notch; grandchildren, Maxwell, Chloe, Grant, Natalie, Sam, Christopher, Jena and Josie; siblings, Lorraine (Ralph) Vanheel, Marlene (Dennis) Doetkott, Marvin (Janet) Notch, Janice (Ron) Roering and Beatrice (Del) Pfifer; many relatives and friends.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bert Notch and daughter-in-law, Anne Notch.
