Earl Spurlin 73 of Nevis, MN died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 while vacationing in El Paso Texas. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, February 16th, and Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m., February 17th at Peace Lutheran Church of Nevis.

Earl James Spurlin was born on October 24th, 1944 in Wadena, MN. His parents where Joe and Ruth Spurlin of Nevis. He graduated from the Nevis high school in 1962. He found the girl of his dreams, Pat Friesen, at St. Paul Bible College and was united in marriage on September 4, 1965. They were blessed with four children: Chad, Jolene, Aaron and Sharalee.

Because of his passion for logging, the family lived in many Western States. In 1989 he settled his family back in Nevis where he retired from logging and soon found a new passion, Kettle Corn, that soon grew into a thriving concession business.

He will be remembered for his hard work, generous nature, devotion to his family, and above all else, his love for the Lord which was evident throughout his life.

He is survived by Pat, his wife of 53 years, and four children: Chad Spurlin of Nevis, Jolene (Jeff) Clark of Dayton, Mn, Aaron (Jess)Spurlin of Bemidji, Mn and Sharalee (John) Gunther of Lexington, OH.; 11 Grandchildren: Gabriel and Christopher Spurlin, Connor, Carson and Cooper Clark, Weston, Chandler, Everett, & Johnny Gunther, Hayden and Chase Spurlin; Three brothers: Clyde Spurlin of California, Kenneth (Mary) Spurlin of Nevis, Paul (Debbie) Spurlin of Stevensville, MT; Three Sisters: Grace (Ron) Alberg and Mary Lou (Dave) Barnum both of Nevis, and Joanne (Paul) Peterson of Miles City Montana.
