The Northern Waters Land Trust (NWLT) is surveying members of lake associations in Hubbard, Cass, Crow Wing and Aitkin counties for input on the region’s conservation needs.
According to a press release, the trust is calling on people currently connected with a lake association in these counties to complete a survey at www.northernwaterslandtrust.org. All surveys need to be completed by Monday, March 1.
In a letter to lake associations in the four-county region, NWLT board chair David Miller wrote, “We are seeking your input to understand your individual and collective needs. We know that we cannot accomplish our vision alone and have been exploring ways to expand our organization’s impact across our service region and meet the needs of our communities.”
Since 1995, the land trust has participated in 64 projects, protecting more than 3,400 acres of fish and wildlife habitat and over 150,000 feet of shoreline. Their goal is to preserve clean lakes, rivers, wetlands and forests for future generations.
