The Patriot House fish house is back for its fourth year.

The Patriot House program allows military veterans, law enforcement, first responders and their families an opportunity to fish at no cost. The three separate Ice Castle fish houses are supplied with donated fishing gear, bait and propane in the Detroit Lakes and Park Rapids area as long as ice conditions allow safe fishing.

“After a break-in two years ago and bad ice last year, we are back for all of January and February,” said David Morse, CEO of American Heroes Outdoor TV.

Morse said two houses will be available in the Detroit Lakes area this year. The Park Rapids fish house will be on Fishhook Lake. In Detroit Lakes, the ice houses will move around Little Detroit Lake and Melissa Lake. Groups can fish from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Interested groups can sign-up for an open timeslot at https://patriothouseproject.com or, in the Park Rapids area, call Smokey Hills Outdoor Store at 237-5099.
