LETTER TO EDITOR: Thanks for heartfelt support after devastating fire
We are heartbroken by the devastating fire that took place in the late afternoon on Jan. 2 that destroyed the beautiful Blueberry Pines Golf Course clubhouse. As we look at the heaps of ashes that remain, we thank God that no one was injured.
Our thanks go out to all of the fire departments and to all of the volunteers for their efforts to control the fire. We are enormously grateful to the Menahga, Sebeka, Park Rapids and Wolf Lake fire departments, along with the Wadena, Verndale, Staples, Akeley, Nevis, Bluffton and Carsonville fire departments, all of which came to fight the blaze that so tragically destroyed our building.
We also greatly appreciate the heartfelt support we have received from our golf community, our employees, both past and present, and the community as a whole regarding this devastating fire.
This is not the way we wanted to start the 2019 golf season. In the great game of golf, as in life, one must play the ball where it lies. To that end, we are working with our insurer, our employees and the community to find the best way back. We remain hopeful that the loss of the grand clubhouse will not keep you from accessing the beautiful golf course this summer.
Our sincerest thanks for your thoughts and prayers in this difficult time. May God bless us all.
